Stories and voices from all genders, ages, relationships, life stages, ethnicities, walks of life, professions and ways of being in the universe. If sex is a subject that interests you, if you feel… (like most of us do) your education might have more than a few gaps in it, if you’re not sure you’re fully equipped to talk to the next generation, or you just feel like exploring some new points of view, awesome, you’ve reached somewhere that might interest you. Join us as we meet some earthly guests who may well introduce you to some alien concepts. If you want to hear about how porn shapes our desires, when sex needs therapy, or what it’s like to be a sex worker, you’re in the right place. Sometimes challenging, sometimes confronting, always enlightening. Buckle up. Available everywhere extraordinary podcasts are found. Monday May 31, 2021
Monday May 31, 2021
In this episode we share an interview with a formidable double act, the lovely Dolly Padalia and Dr Emma Chan from the the School of Sexuality Education.
Since recording this interview, their organisation has had a name change. They used to be called Sexplain, so you’ll hear that pop up a couple of times during our chat.
Dolly Padalia is deputy CEO & COO of the School of Sexuality Education out of the UK - an organisation that offers inclusive and comprehensive sex education for the 21st century, with workshops on porn, consent, sexting and healthy relationships, in schools, universities, youth groups, and other learning centres. 37,358 young people have taken part in the School of Sexuality Education’s sex and relationship education workshops.
Dr Emma Chan, who is the School of Sexuality Education’s reproductive and sexual health lead, a doctor, a blogger, and activist. Her blog: squishsquashsquelch.com is far more than just “doodles” on love, sex, genitalia and gender. It’s really wonderful, creative and informative... the doodles themselves had us scrolling for days, and we highly recommend the recipe for homemade play dough.
